Next Steps

  • We will create small identifying signs and put these in the bush to safely mark the track and to cause the least amount of damage to the natural environment.

  • We will finish writing and recording the audio tour and put it on our website which will be linked to the school website. .

  • We will work with the art students and Manukau Beautification Society to install the enviro friendly gateway.

  • We will make repairs to any parts of the old disused track that may be a hazard, such as broken planks on old bridges.

  • We will work with the enviro council to plant new native seedlings in areas on the edge of the bush which are overgrown with invasive introduced species such as gorse.
  • We will have an official opening of the bush track and take people through the bush for the first time.

  • We will ensure that all teachers in both schools are aware of the value of the bush as a learning environment.

  • We will celebrate and publicise how different classes are using the bush
  • We will make an audio tour for people to download and listen to when going through the bush
